I know a book series named The Wardstone Chronicles. This is an eight book series. The first book, The Spook's Apprentice is about a boy named Tom who was given in apprenticeship at an old spook. From that moment, Tom's life became realy hard. Before him, many others couldn't reach the spook's tasks. He must learn how to defeat ghosts and witches. This book was written by the English teacher from UK, Joseph Delaney.

I know this isn't a SF book but I want to recommend this book to you because it's full of action and there is an awesome murder. It's about and old man who invites his relatives to the Christmas Party. In the Christmas' Eve, there was a noise and his relatives find him dead with the jugular cut! Oh my Gosh!!! His parentrs was killed by his rivall, Voldemort. Harry meets at Hogwarts a boy named Ron Weasley and a girl named Hermione Granger.
